Client Computer Configuration

I will assume you are running Windows 9x (98,95 or XP) on all of your client computers. First thing you'll have to do, is open up the Control Panel, then Double Click on the Network Icon

When you do that, you'll get a window something similar to this:

In that little window, you'll want to scroll down to the TCP/IP Protocol for your network adapter, then double click on it. Another window should pop up. looking something like this, minus all the pink.

You'll want to make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is the choice with the circle filled in with black. And, as the pink suggests, you do not want any numbers in the IP address and Subnet Mask filled in. Once you set those options, click the OK Button at the very bottom, then wait for Windows to copy the correct files, then restart. Now, your client computer will look for the server. The server will then assign your client computer an IP address, and tell that client computer to ask the server for any internet information. This way, you know have your Dial-up, or cable information shared. Next up, go back to the server and go to the next page.
